Volcan Compañía Minera was recognized on Apr. 1 for its achievements in mining safety at the 29th National Mining Safety Competition, organized by the Institute of Mining Safety. The company received three awards, including First Place in the Underground Mining category for its Andaychagua Operating Unit and Second Place in the Open-Pit Mining category for its Alpamarca Unit.

The recognition highlights Volcan’s ongoing commitment to safety and risk prevention across all its operations. The company’s Ticlio Mining Unit also achieved Fourth Place in the Underground Mining category, following a previous National Mining Safety Award.

The award ceremony took place at the Lima Convention Center and brought together industry authorities, mining companies, and occupational health and safety specialists. During the event, Volcan was commended for maintaining high standards of safety and operational performance.

These results strengthen Volcan’s reputation as a benchmark for mining safety within the industry. The company said these distinctions reflect its dedication to protecting life throughout all areas of operation.
