The Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos (UNMSM) began issuing admission certificates to new students from the Engineering and Basic Sciences areas on March 18. The process, organized by the Central Admissions Office, took place at the university campus with a large turnout of incoming students.
The event was divided into two shifts. In the morning, 1,345 new Engineering students completed their paperwork between 9:00 a.m. and noon to receive their official admission certificates. In the afternoon, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., 578 new Basic Sciences students underwent the same process.
According to university officials, tomorrow will be dedicated to students entering Humanities and Legal and Social Sciences programs, while those in Economic and Management Sciences will complete their paperwork the following day. Health Sciences entrants are scheduled for Monday, March 23.
All incoming students must present original identification documents such as a national ID card, passport, or foreign resident card. They are also required to provide their applicant card used during the entrance exam or a police report if lost, proof of payment for the certificate fee under their name and ID number, and an original or digital study certificate issued by the Ministry of Education or proof of learning achievements. Students entering through other modalities must follow documentation requirements outlined in the admissions regulations.
Entry is through gate seven of the university campus. From there, accreditation staff escort new students to the Pre-University Center where they begin procedures that take about two hours. After completing these steps, admitted students can download and print their official admission certificate.
