The Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos (UNMSM) awarded the degree of Doctor Honoris Causa to Jesús Huerta de Soto Ballester during a ceremony held in the Capilla Nuestra Señora de Loreto at the San Marcos Cultural Center on April 22. The event was led by Dr. Jeri Gloria Ramón Ruffner de Vega, Rector of UNMSM, and included university authorities such as Dr. Carlos Francisco Cabrera Carranza, Vice-Rector for Undergraduate Studies; Dr. José Segundo Niño Montero, Vice-Rector for Research and Graduate Studies; and Dr. José Palomino Manchego, Dean of the Faculty of Law and Political Science.
The ceremony followed official protocols with presentations highlighting the academic achievements of Huerta de Soto Ballester, as well as the reading of the rectoral resolution and presentation of institutional honors including a medal, diploma, and insignia. The event concluded with remarks from Huerta de Soto Ballester in front of faculty members, students, guests, and other attendees.
