The Ministry of Health, through the National Superintendency of Health (Susalud), announced on Apr. 15 that it conducted a workshop in Cajamarca aimed at strengthening ongoing improvements in the health system. The event, titled “Self-Management of Health Risks with the Risk Mitigation Plan – PMR 2026,” provided training to 102 representatives from both public and private health establishments as well as the Regional Health Directorate.

This initiative is significant because it seeks to enhance patient care by equipping healthcare managers with tools for identifying, managing, and controlling risks within their facilities. Improving risk management processes can contribute to safer environments for patients and staff alike.

The workshop took place at the National University of Cajamarca and included participation from regional authorities and health sector officials. Sixteen specialists led sessions focused on practical strategies aligned with current regulations. Participants also exchanged experiences regarding their implementation of Risk Mitigation Plans (PMR).

At the conclusion of the event, attendees signed an agreement committing to technical follow-up and continuity of these risk mitigation actions across the region.

According to Susalud, this effort demonstrates its commitment to strengthening healthcare quality by promoting a culture centered on prevention and protection of patient rights.
