The University Council of the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos approved on Apr. 28 the results of the public competition for admission to the teaching career in the Auxiliary 2026 category, as set out in Rectoral Resolution No. 004403-2026-R and its amendment No. 004701-2026-R.
The session was led by Rector Dr. Jeri Gloria Ramón Ruffner de Vega. During the meeting, the General Secretariat presented a report from the responsible commission, which included a list of faculty members who were admitted to their respective faculties. After discussion, council members unanimously approved the report.
A total of 74 positions were offered during this process, with 55 filled and 19 remaining vacant. At the request of council members, it was also decided that a final competition will be held to fill all remaining vacancies, including those open due to resignation or death.
Rector Ramón Ruffner said: “In this new and last process, all available positions will be called as soon as possible for promotions as well as appointments and replacements.” The university operates as an autonomous public entity recognized by Peru’s constitution according to its official website.
