The rector of the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos, Dr. Jeri Ramón Ruffner, and Li Yuanwei, director of Services at Huawei, visited the recently renovated Training Center where the international company provides training in new technologies to San Marcos students on March 19.
The event was also attended by Dr. Luzmila Pro Concepción, dean of the Faculty of Systems Engineering and Informatics, as well as former dean Dr. Carlos Navarro Depaz.
During their tour, Dr. Ramón Ruffner and Li Yuanwei inspected the facilities, which now have spaces suitable for simultaneous training sessions and meetings. The university’s highest authority thanked the Chinese technology company for its contribution to student education. “Thanks to this agreement, the company has implemented a training center equipped with state-of-the-art telecommunications and network technology,” she said.
“In recent years, thanks to an agreement we signed, this training center has allowed many San Marcos students to join this important business conglomerate,” she added.
Bleny Valdivia, public relations manager for Huawei in Peru, said that the visit by a senior executive from his company aimed to hold work meetings with the UNMSM rector and supervise improvements made at the training center as part of scheduled activities.
