The Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos organized the second Induction Workshop for students admitted through the 2026-II entrance exam, according to a March 24 announcement. The event took place at the Ella Dunbar Temple auditorium and was aimed at incoming students from the Basic Sciences faculties.
The workshop is part of a series organized by the Vice-Rectorate for Undergraduate Studies and included participation from university authorities such as Rector Dr. Jeri Ramón Ruffner, Vice-Rector Dr. Carlos Cabrera Carranza, faculty deans, professors, and advisors.
During her opening remarks, Dr. Jeri Ramón Ruffner welcomed new students and said she was proud to have them gathered in the auditorium.
She also noted that this cohort enters as San Marcos celebrates its 574th anniversary.
The rector highlighted that basic sciences are fundamental for research development and encouraged students to be proud of joining fields such as mathematics, physics, and biology.
Students received information about their rights and responsibilities as well as details on university services including enrollment systems, libraries, student welfare offices, academic advising units, cultural centers and international relations offices during this induction session.
The induction program will continue from March 23 to March 27 in both the Ella Dunbar Temple Aguilar auditorium and Rosa Alarco Larrabure hall of Pedro Zulen Aymar Central Library.
