The Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos commemorated its 80th anniversary with a ceremony attended by leading figures in Peru’s chemical sector, according to an April 24 announcement. The event highlighted the faculty’s ongoing role in training professionals and advancing scientific and technological development in the country.

Ale Borja added: “We remain firm in our commitment to train professionals with integrity, values, and skills to contribute to national development. In that vein, we are promoting initiatives aimed at strengthening our faculty’s sustainability.” He announced plans for a new water purification plant for human consumption developed in coordination with private enterprise as well as a strategic partnership with Chilca Municipality for building a second campus.
