The Procuraduría Pública of the Ministry of Production (PRODUCE) reported on Mar. 17 that it achieved significant results in 2025 in defending the legal interests of the State. Between January and December, a total of 204 administrative litigation cases were concluded, most of which involved challenges to administrative sanction resolutions related to fishing, micro and small enterprises (MYPE), and industry.
Of these cases, 194 ended with favorable outcomes for the State, confirming the legality of decisions made by the administrative authority. As a result of these judicial decisions, there was a positive economic impact amounting to S/30,822,752.40 from fines imposed on individuals and companies that violated fishing regulations as well as rules applicable to MYPE and industry sectors.
The General Fisheries Law (Decree Law No. 25977) requires that anyone engaging in fishing activities must have a concession, authorization, license or permit. The law also states that these permits allow activities under specific conditions and for a set period, with compliance overseen by the Ministry of Production.
With these results, both the Procuraduría General del Estado and PRODUCE say they reaffirm their commitment to legality, transparency and specialized technical defense of State interests for the benefit of citizens.
