Luis Arroyo, president of the Council of Ministers, thanked Congress on April 16 for granting a vote of confidence to the ministerial cabinet he leads and reaffirmed his commitment to address the needs of regions and provinces across the country.

The issue is significant as it reflects ongoing efforts by the executive branch to advance development projects and improve conditions nationwide. The government aims to focus on closing social and economic gaps while unblocking stalled projects that benefit local populations.

“We have full confidence that we will not fall short of the support received. This July 27 we will complete our work with better conditions for the country and with a presence in deep Peru. We will remain focused on closing gaps and unblocking projects for the benefit of the population,” Arroyo said.

Speaking from Government Palace alongside President José María Balcázar, Arroyo highlighted that his team has a technical management profile oriented toward concrete results. He also stated that, ahead of the second electoral round, the executive branch would coordinate efforts among Peru’s Armed Forces, National Police, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Ministry of Education.

President Balcázar said parliamentary support was due to effective work by ministers. “We are on the right track, in a process of national integration, and we seek to leave things ready for the next government,” he said.

Congress granted its vote of confidence after hearing an outline of general government policy. During his presentation before lawmakers, Arroyo emphasized three main pillars guiding current management: citizen security, economic continuity, and an orderly democratic transition.
