The Dirección General de Presupuesto Público announced on April 6 the release of preliminary results for the verification of compliance with indicators under the budgetary incentive aimed at increasing investment execution capacity in regional and local governments for 2025.

This development is significant as it relates to efforts to improve public investment management by evaluating whether regional and local governments are meeting established benchmarks. The process follows guidelines set out in Resolución Directoral N.º 0012-2025-EF/50.01 and Resolución Directoral N.º 0011-2026-EF/50.01.

According to the announcement, the preliminary results can be accessed online through a dedicated link provided by the ministry. Regional and local governments have been invited to submit observations regarding these preliminary findings if they believe they have met specific indicators as outlined in technical sheets for IP Inversiones 2025. The statement clarifies that during this observation period, any failure to meet indicators cannot be corrected; only supporting evidence demonstrating compliance will be considered.

To present observations, authorities must submit an official letter addressed to the DGPP, specifically directed to the Dirección de Calidad del Gasto Público, signed either by the head of their entity or a delegated representative. They must also attach a report substantiating their claims with relevant documents according to evaluation criteria and within deadlines specified in Annexes B1 and B2 of Resolución Directoral N.º 0012-2025-EF/50.01, along with an editable Excel summary format as described in Annex D.

This procedure forms part of ongoing measures designed to enhance transparency and accountability in public spending at subnational levels.
