The Dirección General de Presupuesto Público announced on March 16 the release of preliminary results for the verification of targets under the Programa de Incentivos a la Mejora de la Gestión Municipal (PI) for the year 2025. The results are available online, and municipalities are invited to review them.

This announcement is important as it outlines the process by which municipalities can submit observations regarding their compliance with established targets. These observations must demonstrate fulfillment of goals according to technical guidelines approved for the 2025 PI and must be submitted within specified deadlines. The office clarified that during this evaluation period, it is not possible to correct unmet targets.

Municipalities wishing to submit observations should present an official letter for each commitment, attaching relevant reports supporting their claims. A model letter is provided online to assist in this process. The deadline for submission is March 23, 2026.

Documents may be submitted through two channels: electronically via the MEF’s digital platform or in person at the Ministry of Economy and Finance’s main office located at jirón Lampa N.º 594, Cercado de Lima. Electronic submissions must be registered under the municipality’s name; documents filed under individual names will be flagged by the document processing system.

The Dirección General de Presupuesto Público emphasized adherence to these procedures and timelines as part of its ongoing efforts to ensure transparency and accountability in municipal management.
