Peruvian National Ballet and Symphony perform in Buenos Aires for international book fair

The Ministry of Culture of Peru announced on Apr. 27 that the National Folkloric Ballet and the National Symphony Orchestra of Peru performed “Retablo del Perú para el mundo” in Buenos Aires, marking their first joint appearance in Argentina.

The event was held at the Anfiteatro del Parque Centenario as part of Peru’s activities during the Buenos Aires International Book Fair. Hundreds attended the free performance, which featured a blend of dance, live music, theater, and audiovisual projections inspired by traditional Peruvian art forms.

More than 50 artists from both ensembles participated in the show under the artistic direction of Ángel Gómez, orchestral direction by Anthony Puppo, and musical direction by Eddy Sánchez. The repertoire included traditional dances such as marinera norteña, huaylarsh, and tuntuna. The ministry said these performances highlight Peru’s cultural diversity and showcase its artistic heritage to international audiences.
