The Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism of Peru announced on Apr. 8 that it is reviewing new United States presidential measures introducing changes to tariffs on various manufactured goods made from copper, steel, and aluminum.

The ministry said it is maintaining ongoing dialogue with US authorities to explore cooperation opportunities aimed at reducing the impact of these commercial measures.

According to the statement, “Se realiza un seguimiento técnico permanente de las decisiones judiciales, administrativas y legislativas que puedan adoptarse en Estados Unidos, a fin de monitorear su evolución.” The ministry also emphasized efforts to strengthen its commercial promotion strategy by expanding into new markets through active participation in trade negotiations, fairs, business missions, and business roundtables.
