The Presidency of the Council of Ministers (PCM) announced on March 1 that it has led a process to clarify and formalize the boundaries of eight districts in southern Lima. The initiative, carried out through the Secretariat of Demarcation and Territorial Organization (SDOT) and in coordination with the Metropolitan Municipality of Lima, involves Chorrillos, Lurín, Pachacámac, Punta Hermosa, San Juan de Miraflores, Santiago de Surco, Villa El Salvador, and Villa María del Triunfo.
This effort is described as an important step for territorial development in the capital. By reaching key agreements on district boundaries, authorities aim to create a more organized territory with clearly defined limits and greater legal certainty for residents.
According to PCM, the agreement covers a total of 15.1 kilometers of territorial boundaries among these districts. This progress closes about 40 percent of their shared borders. Officials say this achievement will help consolidate orderly territory management and facilitate public administration, urban planning, and service delivery for local populations.
A formal signing ceremony took place on March 18 at the Metropolitan Municipality of Lima. Authorities and representatives from all eight involved districts signed official boundary agreements during the event.
With this action, PCM said it reaffirms its commitment to promoting technical and coordinated processes that support territorial development, governance, and improved quality of life for more than two million citizens living in these districts.
