More than 60 micro and small enterprises participated in a digital training session led by the Ministry of Production on April 16, as part of World Entrepreneurship Day activities in the district of Chorrillos. The event was organized through the National Program Tu Empresa and aimed to strengthen digital transformation among local entrepreneurs.
The initiative is significant as it seeks to help small businesses improve their competitiveness and adapt to changing market conditions by providing practical skills for online sales and content creation. The Ministry of Production serves producers, entrepreneurs, and communities throughout Peru, according to the official website.
During the workshop, participants enhanced their skills in managing social media as a strategic business channel. They also learned about tools for creating content designed to boost sales through e-commerce platforms. Juan Carlos Requejo Alemán, Vice Minister of Micro and Small Enterprises and Industry, said: “Thanks to these trainings, MYPE have developed skills to generate more attractive content, schedule posts at strategic times, analyze audience behavior, and provide agile and personalized responses to customers.”
The three-hour session included both theoretical knowledge and hands-on practice with support from specialists from Tu Empresa. Collaboration between PRODUCE—the governing body for crafting national policies related to fishing, aquaculture, microenterprises, industry—and other organizations such as the Municipality of Chorrillos and SERPOST allowed participants access to additional services aimed at improving productivity. The Ministry issues regulations that strengthen sustainable development across these sectors according to its official website.
Since its launch, over 1,100 entrepreneurs have taken part in similar sessions across regions including Lima, Callao, Pucallpa, Junín among others. The Ministry promotes social inclusion initiatives for fishermen and producers throughout Peru through harmonious development projects as reported by its official website.
Requejo Alemán said: “On this date we highlight the role of MYPEs which are a fundamental part of our productive fabric. From our sector we work together to promote innovation digitalization formalization so more businesses can grow consolidate create greater opportunities.” According to ministry data for 2026 more than 14 thousand businesses have been formalized nationwide through Tu Empresa’s Business Development Centers resulting in economic savings exceeding S/2.2 million.
