MTC signs amendment to strengthen anti-corruption management in key infrastructure projects

The Ministry of Transport and Communications announced on Apr. 28 the signing of an amendment with Consorcio PMO Vías, made up of EGIS Villes et Transports Sucursal del Perú and Setec International Sucursal Perú, which will assume all rights and obligations under the contract for major infrastructure projects including the Nueva Carretera Central and Proyecto Santa Rosa.

This agreement is intended to reinforce transparency, control, and oversight in contract management. The amendment introduces joint responsibility among consortium companies, new rules regarding guarantees, and higher integrity standards. As part of these measures, the consortium has committed to obtaining and maintaining ISO 37001 anti-bribery certification through external audits by an international firm. The results will be submitted to Provías Nacional and Peru’s Comptroller General.

Aldo Prieto, Minister of Transport and Communications, said that this agreement “not only ensures technical continuity for infrastructure projects such as the Nueva Carretera Central but also establishes a strengthened contractual framework for integrity, control, and protection of Peruvian state interests. From our sector we are committed to this project which aims to connect the central macro-region with the coast and capital.”

The Ministry supports cultural and social wellbeing by improving national connectivity through enhanced transport and communications infrastructure according to its official website.
