The Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC) announced on March 23 that it is providing support to Robby Edward Mendoza Ramos, who was injured in a hit-and-run traffic accident. The assistance is being delivered through the SOAT and CAT Compensation Fund.

This update highlights the steps taken by MTC to ensure victims of traffic accidents caused by unidentified vehicles receive timely help. According to the ministry, the incident involving Mendoza Ramos was reported to the compensation fund on March 16.

The coverage for medical expenses was activated after communication with Hospital de Emergencias José Casimiro Ulloa, which supplied the necessary police report for processing. The MTC stated that “the SOAT and CAT Compensation Fund has been covering expenses related to care for the patient, who remains hospitalized at Hospital de Emergencias José Casimiro Ulloa located at Avenida República de Panamá 6399, in Miraflores district. In light of this unfortunate event, we wish Mr. Mendoza Ramos a speedy recovery.”

The ministry reaffirmed its commitment “to protect and assist victims of traffic accidents caused by unidentified vehicles that flee the scene, as well as to provide support to their families.” No further details about ongoing investigations or additional actions were provided.
