The Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC) announced on March 30 the opening of a new Serpost postal office in the commercial district of Gamarra. The initiative aims to strengthen logistics services for micro and small businesses, as well as entrepreneurs operating in this key area of Peru’s economy.

The new branch is located at Antonio Bazo Street No. 1248, La Victoria, and will offer local, national, and international shipping services, postal money orders, and the Exporta Fácil tool. These services are intended to help businesses access markets both within Peru and abroad at a time when e-commerce reaches 55 percent of the Peruvian population.

The office will operate from Monday to Saturday between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., serving an area that sees about 500,000 people pass through daily and is home to more than 49,000 businesses. Its location is expected to make it easier for entrepreneurs to grow their establishments by providing closer access to logistics solutions.

During the inauguration ceremony, Patricia Díaz, general director of Communication Programs and Projects at MTC said: “El crecimiento del comercio electrónico en el país exige soluciones logísticas eficientes y accesibles. Desde el MTC, impulsamos que más emprendedores puedan conectar con sus clientes a nivel nacional e internacional, y Serpost es un aliado estratégico para lograrlo.”

Serpost currently has 418 service points nationwide and operates in 192 countries through the Universal Postal Union. With this new branch in Gamarra, Serpost expands its capacity in one of Peru’s main commercial areas while reinforcing its service offerings for small businesses and entrepreneurs.
