The Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC) announced on Apr. 8 that it is moving forward with the construction of the Central de Emergencias 911, a new emergency response center located on Av. The new facility will have three floors plus a basement. It will be able to accommodate over 90 operators and 100 dispatchers. The building will also include a crisis room, control room equipped with a video wall made up of forty-eight fifty-inch monitors, geolocation systems for calls, integrated surveillance cameras, as well as radio communications alongside cellular and analog telephony—all managed through an Emergency Care and Management System (SAGE).
