The Ministry of Transport and Communications announced on Apr. 28 that more than 1,800 people in Chimbote participated in information sessions about Digital Terrestrial Television (TDT). These events took place at the Plaza de Armas and Plaza Grau, where specialists provided personalized guidance, answered questions, and demonstrated how to properly install equipment for receiving digital signals.
The sessions aimed to help residents understand the advantages of TDT, including improved image and sound quality as well as free access to a wider range of content. Attendees also learned how to correctly install UHF antennas for TDT reception and received information about coverage in Chimbote.
“La televisión digital permite acceder, sin costo, a una señal más nítida, en alta resolución (HD) y con mejor sonido. Desde el MTC seguimos desplegando estas jornadas en distintas localidades para que la población conozca cómo aprovechar esta tecnología,” said Raúl García Loli, Vice Minister of Communications. He also said that direct orientation sessions help resolve doubts and make it easier for families to transition to TDT with accurate information.
