The Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC) held the First Decentralized Public Hearing on Broadcasting Services 2026 in Tacna on March 23, bringing together more than 80 broadcasters, students, and citizens. The event aimed to strengthen regional radio and television services.

The meeting provided an opportunity for attendees to speak directly with MTC specialists. These experts offered technical guidance on procedures, authorizations, license renewals, and other important aspects needed for proper management of broadcasting services.

Specialists from the Regional Directorate of Transport and Communications (DRTC) of Tacna also participated in the event. Their involvement supported joint efforts between the national government and regional authorities.

Ahead of the hearing, the MTC organized information sessions about Digital Terrestrial Television (TDT), reaching over 1,500 residents in public spaces across Tacna. These sessions explained that TDT offers free access to television content with improved picture and sound quality.

According to organizers, these initiatives are part of ongoing efforts by the MTC to bring its services closer to regions throughout Peru. The ministry said it remains committed to modernizing broadcasting and promoting decentralized communication for citizens.
