The Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC) announced on March 17 that Minister Aldo Prieto Barrera met with Congressman Bernardo Pasos Nunura and the mayor of El Tallán district, Javier More Vilchez, to review the status of a local road improvement project connecting El Tallán with the Panamericana route.

The meeting focused on evaluating progress and necessary actions for updating and modifying the technical plans for the project called “Mejoramiento del camino vecinal integrador desde El Tallán, Sinchao Chico hasta la ruta Panamericana.” The initiative is expected to directly benefit 4,386 residents in the area.

According to MTC officials, through Provias Descentralizado, the project involves work on a 7.8-kilometer stretch of road. This upgrade aims to improve access conditions, reduce travel times, and boost local economic activities.

Preparatory steps are currently underway to update the technical study required for the project’s execution. The ministry confirmed that resources have already been allocated to begin this process in the near future.

Officials also highlighted that these efforts are part of a broader strategy by MTC to ensure a more efficient, safe, and inclusive road network across Peru.
