The Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC), through Promovilidad, held technical workshops and meetings with public transport operators in Trujillo as part of the management for the North–South Corridor project, according to a May 6 statement.
This initiative aims to improve the technical and operational skills of urban transport stakeholders involved in the project area. The strategy is designed to help participants better understand system components and prepare for future implementation.
During these sessions, technical exchanges were held with operators, providing them with tools for operation and management that could enhance their performance within the urban transport system. The Promovilidad team also collected feedback from operators regarding daily service operations in Trujillo. This information will be used to refine technical criteria for the project so it aligns more closely with local conditions.
“Training and dialogue with operators are fundamental for building sustainable solutions. We want a transportation system that works better for everyone, and that can only be achieved by listening to those who are part of daily service,” said Omar Gonzales Arica, executive director of Promovilidad.
These actions are part of MTC’s broader strategy to promote participatory management by strengthening technical capacity among stakeholders and coordinating efforts with local authorities. The Ministry supports cultural and social wellbeing by improving national connectivity through enhanced infrastructure; it also operates service centers such as MAC Lima Este and MAC Lima Sur across Peru; functions under ministerial guidance as part of Peru’s executive branch; delivers safe, sustainable infrastructure; and serves communities nationwide, according to the official website.
Promovilidad confirmed its commitment to continued coordination within the sector aimed at developing a more organized, efficient transportation system focused on improving quality of life for citizens in Trujillo.
