The Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC) announced on Apr. 22 that it will take immediate steps to improve the road corridor connecting the districts of Fitzcarrald, Manu, and Tambopata in the Madre de Dios region. The announcement follows a meeting between Minister Aldo Martín Prieto Barrera, Congressman Eduardo Salhuana, and Marisa Soto, mayor of Fitzcarrald.
The ministry said it is committed to providing immediate support by supplying fuel to address urgent issues along critical points of the route while also working on an additional contract for comprehensive project execution. The initiative aims to strengthen connectivity and facilitate transportation in this strategic area.
During the meeting, Roger Venancio, provincial mayor of Pachitea, was informed that funding for a key road project in his province would continue. This project is expected to enhance access between Pachitea and the populated center of Tambillo in Huánuco.
