The Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC) announced on March 24 that it has implemented a new GPS monitoring system in 76 vehicles belonging to Serpost’s national fleet. The initiative aims to strengthen security, optimize logistics, and ensure the continuity of postal services across the country.

The introduction of GPS technology allows for real-time tracking of vehicles while they are on their routes. According to the ministry, this system generates alerts in case of incidents and improves response capabilities in situations such as thefts or emergencies. This is intended to make the transportation of mail and packages safer for both operators and users.

In addition, the system enables better supervision of routes and travel times, ensuring that planned itineraries are followed and reducing unauthorized deviations. As a result, users can expect more regular service schedules and timely deliveries throughout Peru.

Officials also said that implementing GPS supports more efficient use of resources by facilitating sustainable planning for institutional logistics operations.

With this measure, MTC and Serpost reaffirm their commitment to modernizing postal services through technological tools while continuously working to improve service quality for citizens.
