The Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC), through Promovilidad, held meetings with representatives from the German bank KfW as part of an agenda to strengthen coordination and promote urban mobility projects in the country, according to an April 28 announcement.
This collaboration aims to advance initiatives that improve how people move within cities by promoting more efficient, accessible, and sustainable transport systems. The meetings reviewed the status of key projects underway in various cities, including the north-south trunk corridor of Trujillo and its feeder routes. Other areas discussed were the development of urban mobility plans in Chiclayo, Juliaca, and Huancayo, as well as pre-investment projects for Integrated Urban Transport Systems in Piura, Huamanga, and Juliaca. The agenda also includes complementary initiatives for intermediate cities.
Opportunities were identified to further support new initiatives focused on better urban mobility while prioritizing citizens’ needs. The work plan will continue over the coming days as Promovilidad reaffirms its commitment to working with strategic partners to improve urban transportation across Peru.
