MTC and Inter-American Development Bank discuss cooperation on transport and connectivity projects

The Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC) announced on Apr. 28 that Minister Aldo Martín Prieto Barrera met with Matilde Bordon, the representative of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) in Peru, to strengthen cooperation and review the sector’s project portfolio.

According to the ministry, this meeting focused on advancing key initiatives within the transport sector and exploring opportunities for technical assistance and financing from the IDB. The goal is to develop infrastructure and address gaps in national connectivity.

Both officials agreed on “the importance of consolidating a joint agenda that will accelerate the execution of strategic projects, promoting a modern, efficient, and sustainable transport system for all citizens.” During their discussions, they emphasized collaboration as a way to improve public benefit through better infrastructure.

The MTC supports cultural and social wellbeing by improving national connectivity through enhanced transport and communications infrastructure according to its official website.
