The Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC) announced on March 30 that it has signed an inter-institutional cooperation agreement with the Regional Government of Ayacucho to restore and maintain transit on the national route PE-28A, covering the Rumichaca–Licapa–Apacheta–Occollo section.

The agreement involves paving a total of 71 kilometers, which will be carried out by the Regional Government of Ayacucho. The aim is to improve connectivity and road conditions in this area.

Present at the meeting were Juan Haro, Vice Minister of Transport; Wilfredo Oscorima, Regional Governor of Ayacucho; Germán Tacuri, Congressman; and Abel Serna, Provincial Mayor of Andahuaylas.

In addition, officials said that while the concessionaire prepares the final technical file for comprehensive work on Los Libertadores highway, maintenance activities will be performed to ensure transit along this important integration road.

The initiative reflects ongoing efforts by national and regional authorities to enhance transportation infrastructure in Peru.
