The Ministry of Health announced on April 8 that more than 1,500 people have enrolled in the free online course “Atención de Salud Humanizada” (Humanized Health Care), which remains open for registration. The course is organized by the Ministry’s Directorate for Disability Prevention and Control and the National School of Public Health.

The initiative aims to improve health services by promoting a humanized, inclusive approach focused on respect, empathy, and dignity—especially for people in vulnerable situations. The program is available as a massive open online course (MOOC) from March until November 1, allowing flexible access throughout the year at no cost.

Richard Ruiz Moreno, executive director of the Directorate for Disability Prevention and Control at the Ministry of Health, said: “Promover una atención humanizada es fundamental para garantizar servicios de salud más cercanos, inclusivos y respetuosos. Este curso permite fortalecer las capacidades del personal y contribuir a una mejor relación con los pacientes.”

The course consists of 42 hours divided into three units: models of humanized care in health services; communication in human interaction; and preferential attention to persons with disabilities. Participants who complete all requirements will receive an official certificate from the National School of Public Health confirming their training in accessible and humanized care.

Interested individuals can register through the Virtual Educational Platform of Ensap at this link: https://campusensap.minsa.gob.pe/course/view.php?id=1389.

With this initiative, officials say they are reaffirming their commitment to patient-centered care across Peru.
