The Ministry of Health announced on May 13 that the National Superintendency of Health (Susalud) and Social Health Insurance (Essalud) are working together to improve how they handle consultations and complaints related to possible violations of the rights of insured patients.
This joint effort involves coordination between the Intendancy for Promotion and Protection of Health Rights at Susalud and the Central Operations Management at Essalud. The aim is to implement more efficient mediation mechanisms and reduce response times for users.
As part of this collaboration, both institutions will promote a technical working group designed to establish a faster information flow. This initiative will also include strategic contacts to help manage and resolve reported cases more effectively.
On April 29, Susalud presented a report on the status of consultations and complaints handled. The presentation was made before more than 100 representatives from 28 healthcare networks as well as three decentralized bodies from Essalud nationwide.
According to the Ministry, these actions seek to strengthen service for insured patients by providing quicker, closer, and more efficient responses when health rights may have been violated. “In this way, the Ministry of Health, through SUSALUD, reaffirms its commitment to continue promoting health care that is timely, accessible, and centered on people,” said officials.
