The Ministry of Health (Minsa) presented the Minsa Cuentos initiative at the Día del Cómic Festival 2026, according to a May 1 announcement. The program uses storytelling and narrative techniques to encourage healthy habits among children and adults, focusing on topics such as balanced nutrition, physical activity, and mental health.
The initiative was produced by the Office of General Communications. During the event, attendees learned about the creative process behind stories like “Las manos más limpias del mundo” and “La campana dorada.” Illustrators and creators involved in Minsa Cuentos described how they transform everyday health situations into entertaining stories aimed at teaching disease prevention to young audiences.
Cosplayers dressed as iconic heroes and villains also participated in the festival by visiting Minsa’s booth for vaccinations. This demonstration was intended to show that even powerful characters need protection.
The activity took place during Vaccination Week in the Americas (SVA) 2026. Organizers aimed to protect people by offering free immunizations at high-attendance cultural events, especially targeting children and older adults.
Currently, Minsa Cuentos has published 15 stories across four seasons that are available on digital platforms such as Spotify, Apple Podcast, and YouTube.
