The Ministry of Transport and Communications responded on April 28 to a road emergency on route PE-14 A, section Copuma–Huacaybamba, in Aray, Huánuco. The incident was caused by heavy rains that led to erosion and loss of the road platform.
The ministry said the intervention was carried out with support from local authorities to address the critical point and restore traffic flow on this important route for residents. Heavy machinery was used to fill with rocks, improve water drainage, and stabilize the ground. This action will allow restricted transit while technical evaluations continue for additional work.
According to the ministry, more than 22,000 people benefit from this route. It is considered essential for transporting agricultural products, supplying food, and accessing basic services in the area.
