The Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC) announced on April 20 that significant progress has been made in the repair of the Tumán bridge, located at kilometer 18 of the national route PE-6A in the district of Tumán, province of Chiclayo, Lambayeque region. The intervention aims to restore safe passage along one of the region’s main routes.
According to MTC, this project is important for ensuring secure travel and supporting economic activity by improving a key piece of infrastructure. The work includes specialized tasks such as tensioning beams, formwork and removal, as well as placing, vibrating, and curing concrete to extend the service life of the bridge.
The recent static load test was carried out to verify the structural capacity of the bridge before reopening it fully to traffic. The repairs cover a span measuring 33.9 meters and are being conducted according to schedule since their start in November 2025 with an investment totaling S/1.85 million.
