Ministry of Transport and Communications plans four modular bridges in Ayabaca province

The Ministry of Transport and Communications announced on Apr. 22 that it is coordinating actions for the installation of four modular bridges in the province of Ayabaca, following a meeting between Minister Aldo Martín Prieto Barrera and Darwin Quinde Rivera, the provincial mayor.

The planned infrastructure aims to improve road connectivity in highland areas, facilitating access to regional markets and basic services for residents. The ministry said that work will be carried out with Provías Descentralizado and Provías Nacional to evaluate the implementation of modular bridges at Pintado (57 meters), Méjico (40 meters), Anchalay (46 meters), and La Monja (57 meters). These bridges are intended to strengthen connections between the districts of Suyo, Sícchez, and Jililí.

During discussions, officials also addressed maintenance needs for rural roads in Frías, Jililí, Paimas, and Ayabaca districts. These efforts are designed to ensure reliable transportation routes for people and agricultural products. “We work to guarantee that the necessary road infrastructure becomes a reality that transforms the daily lives of its inhabitants,” said Prieto Barrera.
