The Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC) announced on Mar. 23 that it has taken steps to assist Robby Edward Mendoza Ramos, who was injured in a hit-and-run traffic accident.

According to the MTC, the incident was reported to the SOAT and CAT Compensation Fund on March 16. The ministry said coverage for medical expenses was activated after communication with the José Casimiro Ulloa Emergency Hospital, which provided the necessary police report for further procedures.

The MTC confirmed that it is covering medical costs related to Mendoza Ramos’s care. He remains hospitalized at José Casimiro Ulloa Emergency Hospital located at Avenida República de Panamá 6399 in Miraflores district.

In its statement, the ministry reaffirmed its commitment “to protect and assist victims of traffic accidents caused by unidentified vehicles that flee the scene, as well as provide support to their families.” No further details about the ongoing investigation or future actions were included in this announcement.
