The Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC) announced on April 10 that Vice Minister of Communications Raúl García Loli met with Congressman Paul Gutiérrez Ticona and the mayor of Antabamba, Roberto Humananí Menesses, to address infrastructure needs in Apurímac.

The meeting focused on improving road and communications services in the region. The MTC, through Provías Descentralizado, offered technical assistance to the municipality of Antabamba for preparing documents related to the priority road project “Mejoramiento del servicio de transitabilidad vial urbana en el camino vecinal Huancapampa – Ayahuay – Pachaconas.”

Officials also discussed progress toward authorizing radio station operations in Abancay. The ministry said this service would provide an important channel for timely information access for residents.

The Ministry confirmed its ongoing collaboration with regional and local authorities “for the development of projects that contribute to improved connectivity, directly benefiting citizens and helping close gaps in the country.”

The Ministry supports cultural and social wellbeing by improving national connectivity through enhanced transport and communications infrastructure, according to the official website. It operates as part of Peru’s executive branch with authority over these sectors. The organization manages multimodal approaches to advance connectivity nationwide since its establishment in 1969 according to its official website.

Looking ahead, MTC said it will continue efforts with public entities at all levels. It delivers safe, sustainable, and inclusive transport and communications services across Peru according to official information.
