The Ministry of Transport and Communications announced on April 24 that it is moving forward with plans for the Espigón breakwater at the Ilo Port Terminal and making progress on the Moquegua-Ilo highway. The update followed a meeting between Vice Minister of Transport Juan del Carmen Haro Muñoz and Moquegua regional governor Gilia Gutiérrez Ayala.

The concessionaire has submitted responses to observations from the first report, which is expected to be approved in May. By year-end, approval of the project’s profile and assignment for technical documentation are anticipated.
