The Ministry of Production approved on May 13 the modification of the “Guidelines for the promotion and sustainable management of industrial parks within the National System of Industrial Parks (SNPI)” through Ministerial Resolution No. 000130-2026-PRODUCE. The update aims to provide greater clarity on promoting and managing sustainable industrial parks, as well as strengthening conceptual aspects and criteria related to declaring industrial parks of national relevance.
The revised regulations seek to improve evaluation criteria for processes associated with the National System of Industrial Parks. They also introduce measures to promote better sustainability practices, including mechanisms that encourage clean agreements and actions contributing to ecosystem care.
As part of these changes, the ministry will promote signing Voluntary Clean Production Agreements between itself and industrial parks. These agreements are designed to support circular economy goals, decarbonization, and reduced emissions under the Montreal Protocol framework. The agreements will help implement concrete actions aimed at optimizing resource use, improving energy and water efficiency, and enhancing sustainability in productive activities.
The new guidelines also include incentives for quality improvement, technology transfer, and innovation within industrial parks by fostering ongoing collaboration between companies and entities from Peru’s national innovation ecosystem focused on productive development.
These measures are intended to create more modern, sustainable, and competitive industrial spaces aligned with principles such as circular economy, eco-efficiency, and responsible industrial development. The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment “to strengthening industry and the National System of Industrial Parks by promoting sustainable investments, greater competitiveness, and better development opportunities for regions across the country.” The Ministry is responsible for crafting policies that foster sustainable development in fishing, aquaculture, micro-, small-, medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), industry sectors nationwide; it serves producers throughout Peru; issues regulations supporting sustainability; promotes social inclusion initiatives; operates facilities in San Isidro; all according to the official website.
