The Ministry of Production announced on Apr. 2 that more than 60 micro and small enterprises are participating in the National Fair for Holy Week in Ayacucho, with support from its National Program Tu Empresa. The event, held at the Canaán Convention Center and organized by the Regional Government of Ayacucho, aims to promote visibility, market access, and growth opportunities for Peruvian entrepreneurs.
This initiative is significant as it brings together entrepreneurs from various regions to showcase their products and encourages economic activity during a major national holiday. It also highlights ongoing efforts to strengthen regional economies through business development.
Governor Wilfredo Oscorima inaugurated the fair alongside Vice Minister of Micro and Small Enterprises and Industry Juan Carlos Requejo. “We are very happy to be here for the second consecutive year, accompanying more than 60 micro and small businesses who participate enthusiastically in a fair that is consolidating itself and gaining greater relevance each year. This is a space where entrepreneurs, citizens, and institutions come together, generating real opportunities for development. From PRODUCE we work to provide the best tools and spaces so our entrepreneurs can offer their products and continue growing,” Requejo said.
Participants represent regions such as Cusco, Arequipa, Junín, Ayacucho, Pasco, Lima, Huánuco, Piura, Cajamarca, Ica, and Áncash. They offer a variety of goods including clothing items, chocolates, coffee beans, honey products, canned fish preserves, regional liquors, craft beer varieties as well as ice cream—demonstrating both diversity and quality within Peru’s production sector.
During the fair—which runs from April 2 to April 4—the Ministry provides information services such as technical assistance programs; training sessions; financing opportunities; plus outreach from agencies like the Technological Institute of Production (ITP), National Program A Comer Pescado (Eat Fish), National Fund for Fisheries Development (FONDEPES), ProInnóvate program along with its General Directorate of Aquaculture.
The Ministry promotes social inclusion initiatives that aim to improve living conditions among fishermen and producers across Peru according to its official website. It operates multiple facilities including central headquarters in San Isidro—Lima—as well as business development centers according to its official website. As Peru’s governing body for policy creation in fishing industries; aquaculture sectors; micro-, small- or medium-sized enterprises—and industrial oversight—the ministry seeks sustainable national development according to its official website.
Looking ahead beyond this event period (April 2–4), these types of fairs reflect broader governmental efforts toward decentralized productive growth throughout communities served by producers nationwide according to its official website.
