The Ministry of Production announced on April 9 that the second Capital Round secured financing commitments totaling S/1.8 million for 25 manufacturing micro and small enterprises (MYPE) in the Lima region.
This initiative aims to support MYPE by providing them with access to credit, enabling them to expand their productive capacity and modernize their operations. The program is expected to directly benefit about 200 MYPE through credit placements during its scheduled rounds in the first half of the year.
During the event, entrepreneurs presented their products and funding needs before a panel of nine financial institutions including banks, municipal savings banks, cooperatives, and specialized finance companies. After discussions with these entities, each entrepreneur selected the institution offering the most favorable terms. Prior to participating in this roundtable format event, all selected MYPE received training on cost structure, financial planning, profitability assessment, debt capacity analysis and negotiation techniques.

Looking ahead into 2026’s first semester schedule—based on lessons learned from earlier pilot events—the Ministry plans up to four more capital rounds targeting direct support for hundreds more small manufacturers.
