The Ministry of Production (PRODUCE) announced on Apr. 8 that it held the OPEN CITE event in San Martín, bringing together companies and trade groups from the regional production sector to connect them with specialized technological services and strengthen business collaboration.
This initiative aims to support local businesses by providing access to research, development, technical assistance, training, and laboratory testing. The CITEproductivo San Martín showcased its capabilities for improving production processes, raising quality standards, and helping companies reach new markets.
A key highlight was the microbiology laboratory in San Martín. This facility allows local businesses to complete procedures needed for sanitary registrations within their own region. As a result, companies can reduce costs and processing times while gaining easier access to specialized services.
During his visit, Vice Minister of Micro and Small Enterprises (MYPE) and Industry Juan Carlos Requejo Alemán led discussions focused on innovation and business development. His agenda included a technical meeting about the DER San Martín 3.0 project—which promotes regional innovation contests through ProInnóvate—and talks with the Regional Directorate of Production about organizing trade fairs and enhancing technical support for local governments.
“We are bringing technological capacities and specialized services closer to the regions so that companies can produce better goods, meet standards, and compete in new markets. This is a concrete step toward decentralizing services, reducing gaps, and energizing the regional economy,” said Requejo Alemán.
Since 2016, CITEproductivo San Martín has provided over 28 thousand technological services to more than ten thousand productive units in the region.
