The Ministry of Production announced on April 15 that it has completed more than 40 training sessions aimed at strengthening quality infrastructure and increasing the competitiveness of production chains across Peru.
The initiative, led by the Institute of Production Technology (ITP) and the National Institute of Quality (INACAL), reached over 3,500 participants in all departments during 2025. The program targeted producers, micro and small businesses, specialists, entrepreneurs, academia, and the general public.
César Quispe Luján, Minister of Production, said: “Thanks to the territorial deployment of the Network of Centers for Productive Innovation and Technology Transfer (RED CITE), coverage was achieved in all departments of Peru, consolidating an intervention model with national impact.”
Training topics included metrological assurance for precise measurements and process validation using applied statistics and microbiology. Participants also learned about meeting international standards such as ISO/IEC 17025 and Codex to overcome technical barriers in foreign trade. Sustainability concepts like circular economy were promoted to help companies use resources efficiently while protecting the environment. In Sechura, artisanal fishermen received technical assistance on quality standards for scallop production to support their integration into export chains with high requirements.
These actions support implementation of the National Policy for Quality by promoting progressive accreditation for CITE laboratories and expanding specialized services in quality infrastructure for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises. The ministry reported interventions in five strategic sectors: fishing, agroindustry, forestry, textiles, leather and footwear.
