The Ministry of Housing, Construction and Sanitation announced on March 27 the first national call for the Techo Propio 2026 program, which will provide up to 14,880 families across the country with a Family Housing Bonus to help them build homes on their own land.

The initiative aims to support families who have acquired land but lack resources to construct safe and adequate housing. The ministry will invest S/519,208,884 in this initial phase under the “Construction of Homes on Own Site” modality.

“Access to decent housing cannot continue being a privilege. With this call we are changing lives, because we are not only building houses; we are building security, well-being and a future for thousands of families who today await an opportunity,” said Wilder Sifuentes Quilcate, Minister of Housing, Construction and Sanitation.

Each family will receive S/33,000 through the Family Housing Bonus. In regions such as Amazonas, Cajamarca, Huánuco, Pasco, Puno, Cusco, Apurímac and Madre de Dios the bonus may increase up to S/38,610 depending on local conditions. The subsidies target households with monthly incomes up to S/2,706 and prioritize those most in need. Registration is free except for a minimum savings requirement of S/2,475.

According to R.M.N°102-2026-VIVIENDA published in the official gazette: Lima and Callao (1,749 bonuses), Piura (1,329), San Martín (1,300), Ica (1,274), Áncash (1,238) and La Libertad (1,148) are among regions receiving the highest allocations. Other departments include Lambayeque (845), Arequipa (732), Loreto (631) and Junín (602).

The Ministry said it works together with regional and local governments so that more communities can benefit from formal housing opportunities. Information is available at real estate showcases in Lima as well as Citizen Service Centers in all 24 regions or via toll-free line 0800-12-200 provided by Fondo Mivivienda.
