The Ministry of Housing, Construction and Sanitation announced on March 28 that it will provide a total of 131 Emergency Rental Housing Grants (BAE) to families in six regions who have lost their homes due to heavy rainfall.
The ministry said the grants, valued at S/500 per month for up to 24 months, are intended to help people whose homes were declared collapsed or uninhabitable find safe accommodation while recovery and reconstruction efforts continue. The initiative was formalized through Ministerial Resolution 103-2026-Vivienda as part of the ninth call for applications this year.
“We seek that those families who have lost their home due to the rains can access a decent, safe house with all basic services, thus ensuring their well-being,” said officials from the Ministry of Housing.
Ayacucho will receive the highest number of grants with a total of 60 distributed in La Mar and Páucar del Sara Sara provinces. Lambayeque follows with 45 grants allocated among Chongoyape, Pimentel, Jayanca, Mórrope and Motupe districts. In La Libertad, 18 grants will go to affected families in Pataz province; Piura will see three beneficiaries in Ayabaca; Lima also has three recipients in Cajatambo; and Cusco will receive two grants in La Convención.
This marks the ninth BAE call aimed at supporting families impacted by rain emergencies so far this year. The ministry says it is working to provide a rapid response for hundreds of Peruvian households facing such crises.
