The Ministry of Health, through the Directorate of Integrated Health Networks (Diris) Lima Sur, announced on May 1 that it is intensifying immunization efforts to protect the population and address gaps in regular vaccination schedules. As part of these actions, a health intervention was carried out at the Atocongo land terminal in the district of San Juan de Miraflores, where there is a high flow of people due to the national long holiday. More than 200 passengers were vaccinated during this initiative.
Immunization teams were deployed at strategic points within the terminal with the goal of offering and administering vaccines from the regular schedule to travelers before their departure. This strategy aims to reduce immunization gaps among people in transit, prevent vaccine-preventable diseases, and strengthen collective protection in contexts with high mobility.
Intensive vaccination days are being held until May 3 for children, adolescents, older adults, and vulnerable groups. These efforts include home brigades, extended service hours, and strategic vaccination points in areas with large crowds.
The Ministry urged citizens to visit vaccination points located throughout different regions of the country as an opportunity to protect their health and that of their families. The Ministry also reminded residents that vaccinations are available year-round at all health facilities.
“Vaccines are safe, free, and save lives,” said officials from the Ministry.
