The Ministry of Health sent three medical teams to the Piura region on March 16 to strengthen healthcare services for people affected by heavy rains in Ayabaca. The deployment was carried out through the Directorate General for Disaster Risk Management and National Health Defense, with a focus on supporting areas most impacted by the El Niño phenomenon.
This action aims to reinforce medical care in Ayabaca, one of the provinces hardest hit by recent rainfall. The teams include doctors, nurses, technicians, and logistics staff who will work together to provide comprehensive and personalized care to families affected by the weather emergency.
Minister of Health Dr. Juan Carlos Velasco ordered the mobilization in coordination with the Regional Health Directorate of Piura. The goal is to support local health personnel already serving communities in the highlands of Piura.
The arrival of these professionals is expected to improve healthcare response at critical points throughout Ayabaca. The multidisciplinary team will coordinate efforts to ensure that those impacted by flooding receive timely and adequate medical attention.
According to the Ministry of Health, ongoing collaboration with regional and local authorities will continue as part of efforts to guarantee prompt assistance for all residents affected by emergencies.
