The Ministry of Health began a series of visits on March 20 to health centers in Tumbes, led by Leonardo Rojas, Vice Minister of Public Health. Rojas visited the Pampa Grande and Corrales health centers to assess their facilities, service operations, and readiness to respond to public health needs.
These visits included checks on patient care procedures and the availability of medicines. Rojas also spoke with healthcare staff to identify any immediate needs and implement measures aimed at improving care and ensuring timely responses for the local population.
Rojas later met with the director and technical team at DIRESA Tumbes, where they reviewed current data and ongoing actions related to leptospirosis cases. Representatives from DIRESA La Libertad also attended this meeting, sharing experiences and strengthening coordination efforts against the disease.
The vice minister supervised training sessions for primary care doctors from various health establishments. The training focused on managing patients with fever symptoms to ensure early detection and treatment of leptospirosis and dengue cases.
“El Ministerio de Salud ratifica su compromiso de continuar fortaleciendo sus acciones estrategias para proteger la salud de todos los peruanos,” said the Ministry of Health.
