The Ministry of Health announced on Apr. 28 that it has launched virtual channels for health professionals to access courses, master’s programs, and diplomas across the country. The initiative is led by the National School of Public Health (Ensap), which aims to strengthen the skills of health workers through these educational offerings.

The Ensap describes itself as an academic community focused on providing high-quality training, capacity building, and research in public health with a sense of social responsibility. According to the announcement, Ensap has made its official online platforms available, including a website, YouTube channel, virtual campus, and WhatsApp channel.

Currently, six free massive open online courses (MOOCs) are offered nationwide. These include topics such as Intercultural Health; Humanized Health Care; Promotion of Healthy Lifestyles; Digital Literacy and Transformation in Peru: Concepts and Essential Tools; Socioemotional Skills in the Workplace; and Comprehensive Dengue Care. The content will remain accessible throughout the year for all personnel within the National Health System.

This flexible format allows participants to manage their own learning pace. The Ministry said this approach helps ensure ongoing professional development for those responsible for public well-being throughout Peru and supports readiness to address public health challenges.

The courses are part of the ‘National Plan for Public Health Training-2026,’ which was formalized by Directoral Resolution No. D000006-2026-ENSAP-MINSA.
