The Ministry of Health announced on April 28 that it held a coordination and articulation meeting as part of efforts to implement an integrity model within entities forming the Integrity Network in the health sector. The session, organized by the Office of Transparency and Anti-Corruption, presented results from the National Report 2025, which was prepared by the Secretariat of Public Integrity under the Presidency of the Council of Ministers. The report covers implementation progress among public organizations affiliated with or reporting to the Ministry.

The meeting was led by María Terrazas Acurio, deputy executive at the ministerial office; Julio Niño Bazalar, secretary general; and Jean Castañeda Rivera, executive director at the Office of Transparency and Anti-Corruption as well as integrity officer for the sector. Leaders from various institutions within the network attended alongside top administrative authorities and designated integrity officers.

According to Castañeda Rivera, out of 37 organizations in this network, 19 have advanced to either stage two (Institutionalization) or stage three (Standardization) in implementing integrity measures. He said this demonstrates increased formal adoption and progressive strengthening toward transparent management across Peru’s health system. The remaining organizations were also recognized for significant progress during their implementation process.

During this event, certificates were awarded to public bodies that moved into stage two for adopting these standards. In addition, act number one was signed by senior administrators present at this inaugural meeting. This document sets commitments including continued supervision over how these standards are put into practice and active participation in future sessions.

The Ministry said these steps reaffirm its commitment to maintaining transparency and strong ethical management within Peru’s health sector. Officials indicated that ongoing collaboration between entities will help consolidate improvements through 2027 while working toward greater public trust.
